A tradition is a belief or behaviour (folk custom) passed
down within a group or society with symbolic meaning or special significance
with origins in the past. A component of folklore, common examples include holidays or impractical but socially
meaningful clothes (like lawyers'
wigs or military
officers' spurs), but the idea has also been applied to social norms such as greetings. Traditions can persist and evolve for
thousands of years—the word tradition itself derives from
the Latin tradere literally meaning to
transmit, to hand over, to give for safekeeping. While it is commonly assumed
that traditions have an ancient history, many traditions have been invented on
purpose, whether that be political or cultural, over short periods of time.
Various academic disciplines also use the word in a variety of ways.
Culture is
an umbrella term which encompasses
the social behaviour and norms found
in human societies, as well as the knowledge, beliefs, arts, laws, customs,
capabilities, and habits of the individuals in these groups.
Humans acquire culture through the learning processes
of enculturation and socialization, which is shown by the
diversity of cultures across societies.
The
above two are not just symbolic and to follow these one must be enthusiastic,
positive, and proud about their religion, state, and country. The feminists
today are trying to prove themselves to be much modern, sophisticated, and
logical. To achieve this, they are going beyond all theories and believes of a
society.
The
world believes and consider India as the richest of tradition, culture, and
religious resources. It is very much unfortunate to see that the Indian
Feminists are against their own country and culture. They are trying to run
away from all the rituals and beliefs we followed from ancient times. The basic
reason behind this is responsibility, which they do not want to take. The
responsibility to initiate and start preparation for any festival or ritual
which obviously requires cleanliness of house to decoration, preparation of
food to washing of dishes. For a fact that even all the male members in the
house too contribute their part to share this workload, still feminists and
so-called modern women simply wants to run away from such responsibilities in the
name of orthodox thinking and they even go beyond their limits to defame a
religion.
Today is the world of internet and it seems that the globe is
not so big, as we see people across the world following Indian culture and
tradition. They do not just celebrate it but are happy to share their picture
on internet and social media. They learnt the values of these festivals and
feel proud by celebrating our culture. This makes us feel proud about our
nation and its rich culture. In the same time when we think about Indian Modern
Women, they are very much repellent towards their own culture.
